a little magic

The following day ... which was a Thursday ... we went to the most famous park ... Magic Kingdom ... which included another bus ride :)
Little Dude especially enjoyed seeing the buses because he had recently been playing with toy replicas of the three Disney bus designs at our house ...
We got there right about when the gates opened and -- thanks to Daddy {and his plan!} -- we kept up a brisk pace all day long. When the park opens in the morning, Disney employees wave welcome with white four-fingered Mickey gloves ... it's a fun touch ...
The kiddos on Main Street ...
I tried to take a picture at every ride to help us remember how many we went on ... you know how I like documenting :) First off was two times on the Pooh ride ...
You ride in a two-benched honey-pot shaped vehicle and view Pooh scenes ...

And another "oldie" for the fun of it ... Halo and Daddy on the Pooh ride in 2008 ...
Next up was the spinning teacups ...
And then the speedway ...
The kids seem to think it's a gas sitting in these cars ... but in all truthfulness ... this is one sad ride. The cars are impossible to steer and they move slowly and you're limited to one track ... and invariably ... you get stuck behind someone who can barely operate the thing ... and so you're limping along ... and you're wishing they would improve these vehicles or put a whole new ride here ... okay, maybe it's not that bad ... but I'm quite certain I declared it lame immediately after completing it :)
And this here is another ride probably worth skipping ... I can't remember what it's called but it's spinning rockets ... a little bit high up so you have a view. The line, however, takes longer than you think it will because of the stages of corralling you must go through ... and it hurts worse than the spinning dinos or spinning magic carpets because {I think} it goes faster and so you are jammed to the outer side of your metal rocket ... and it's not soft or comfortable. Why do I look like I'm having fun??? Well I'm supposed to, yes??? And the ride hadn't begun yet ... so I hadn't been pinned to the side wall yet ...
The Peter Pan ride ...
Time for a popsicle break ...
Waiting to go on the Buzz Lightyear ride ...
This was one our favorites ... it's like a ride and a video game combined ...
So we went on this one twice as well ...
Battling the evil Zurg ...
This is called the People Mover ... a train-like ride ...
It's A Small World is a boat ride ... watching singing and dancing dolls depicting dress and scenes from around the globe ...
The song ... It's A Small World ... plays continually throughout the ride ...
Happy on the boat ...
Flying on a carpet with Halo ...
Another train ride. This train goes in a pretty big loop around the park and you can just ride it for however long you want ...
We also came back to Magic Kingdom for a couple of hours on our Epcot day to finish off Halo's checklist :) She said we still needed to ride The Jungle Cruise ... and then Daddy and the middle two rode Splash Mountain again so I could get better photos :)

On the Jungle Cruise ...

It is a pretend safari via boat ... it's a pretty nice looking fake elephant though ... wouldn't you say???
A quick jaunt up and down the stairs to view The Swiss Family Robinson tree house ... it's a fun book to read ... and for the record, it was one of Halo's favorites a couple/few years ago :) It's probably where my kids got all of their notions of catching a deer ...
The kids were hot and hungry ... so it was popsicle time again ...
Splashing down Splash Mountain ...

The first time we went to Disney ... Halo was three ... and terrified of all of these characters ... so we avoided them completely. The second time we came no one really wanted to see the characters up close either ... but this time ... Daddy got to meet Pooh ;)
As we were heading toward the exits ... Daddy spotted Pooh and Tigger all alone -- and usually there is a big line to take pictures with the cast -- so we zipped over to take a few snapshots with them :) {This was actually before our character breakfast at Cape May ... but I included the breakfast in the previous post because the restaurant is at the Beach Club.}
See how we were keeping up a brisk pace??? Daddy had us running to catch the monorail ... we got there just in the nick of time ...
Oh! How exciting! Another train-like ride ... and off we went to explore Epcot ...

We were trying to get our "moneys worth" :) And yeah I remembered Foofie's princess dresses -- never even thought about that the other two times. But she's been into wearing them a lot recently and I spotted them on top of a stack of dirty laundry at the last minute ... so I tossed them in a bag to wash once we got to Disney :)
