a little album: cabin 2012 part II

Hello all you readers:) Its Halo again!! For those of you who don't know who I am, I am Dana's oldest daughter, and the publisher of another blog: The Theory Of Evolution.
I am here to present to you cabin 2012 part II -- this is because I was the only one with a camera, lucky me :) These pix are with my new camera...so here goes :)

Buddy on the ride trying out a new hat style :)

The berry washer accompanied by the berry sneaker :)

The berry cute Ezzie :)

The lake before breakfast...

The breakfast party at The Birchwood Cafe :)
My Mom & Ezzie ... He's not lookin' at me, but at the pancakes. Who knew a stack of pancakes was more interesting than me ... sniff, sniff ;)

These next pix are of a cute little clothes/toys/snack food/etc. store in town :)

Do you see all the glass fish tank/cage thingys to the left of the picture? Those are tiny African frogs of some sort ...

Can you guess how much these two little frogs were? Drum-roll please :) dun-dun-dun-dun...$29.99!!! Though they were cute they were a LITTLE too expensive :)

Here is Foof lounging in one of their fluffy lawn chair type chairs [did I tell ya? they sell furniture too.]

A little nest beside the dirt road that leads to our cabin ...

Buddy and I had a rather interesting adventure in the freezing lake with Grandpa trying to fix the boat lift. It was hilarious!!! By the time we were done we all had chattering teeth :)

A fun tubing adventure :)

This one is of me, Buddy, and Ezzie! Ezzie loved tubing!!! He was super excited that he was a "big boy"*! *Please note that "big boy" was Ezzie's wording ... not mine :)

I made "cowboy cookies" ...
Buddy fired a few shots {I did too but I had the camera so no one got a picture of me ;( }
We had a super fun time!

a little blouse

I had a little chuckle at my oldest today :) I was going through her clothes ... looking for stuff to purge. I picked up a flowered blouse that I thought might be getting a little smallish ... waved it at Halo ... and innocently asked, "Can we get rid of this?"

"Hey! Put that down! Put it back!" Halo erupted ... "That's my ... that's my BABYSITTING BLOUSE!!!  I almost always wear it when I go babysitting ... and I'm going to wear it TONIGHT!"

A few hours later ... all set for babysitting in THE BLOUSE -- with her trusty "babysitting bag" slung over her shoulder :)

a little forward-thinker and list-maker

We went to a grad party on June 3rd. Two days later, forward-thinking Foofie asked ...

"So what happens next? Is Jordan gonna get married?"
"No."
"So what's he going to do now?"
"Well ... after graduation, people usually go to college or start a job or continue working ..."
"I think he should get a job at Dairy Queen," she said. (FYI, I worked at DQ in high school, so this wasn't completely out of thin air.)
"He's actually planning to go to college ... in Illinois."
"IN ILLINOIS? HE'S MOVING???"
"Yep."
"He's not going to live with his parents anymore???"
"Not while he's in college ..."
"Hmmm ... interesting."

Also ... here are some of her lists I recently stumbled upon :)

Apparently she wanted a minutes to seconds conversion chart :)
She likes men and women ... but she loves girls and boys :) She liked dogs ... but then it looks like she changed her mind :) And I'm wondering what "fulf" is ...
This is a list she made at Costco ...
P.S. Foof recently told me I'm tall for my age :)

a little album: cabin 2012 part I

Yay!  May was here again ... I think May is my favorite month!  And now June is here again.  Isn't it just lovely???  I love summertime!  We had a wonderful beginning to our "summer" at the cabin :)

Little HoneyBun likes badminton :)
The boat wasn't "in" yet ... so the kids did some canoeing :)
There was a tea party ...
and the boys were invited too :)
It rained off and on ...
We played games ...

I waited patiently to photograph this purple martin -- {my father-in-law has been waiting for about eight years for them to find these houses}
And Buddy improved his aim ...

a little bit amusing II

Now it's Foofie's turn to provide amusement :)

Buddy was in the car talking about a lawn business he wants to start {he was inspired by Brian the bobcat driver} ... and he was saying that he hopes he will still be in operation far in the future ... when he is twenty ...

"Who are you going to marry anyway???"  Foofie asked him ... thinking of Buddy's future ...

Buddy didn't answer -- probably because thinking about a business is far more exciting than pondering marriage.

"Well ... THIS is how I'm going to marry."  Foofie informed him.  "I'm going to ask someone to make this to happen ... I'm going to be in a square ... and I'm going to stand with a wedding dress on and a whole group of men will be in a circle around me ... and all the men are going to wear wedding clothes.  And then I'm going to pick the man who I want.  And then I marry him."

Laughter filled our vehicle ...

"What's so funny?  I'm not funny.  Then how are you supposed to marry???" responded Foofie.  {I actually got all of this on video ... but it's more like audio as all you can see is my dashboard ... and the voices are too quiet to bother posting here.}

Then I seized the opportunity to explain "how {Lord willing} you are supposed to marry" :)

***

Foofie refers to her mouth as a hotel.  So ... if she is no longer too keen on eating a food that she previously liked ... she says, "Those taste buds left my hotel."

***

One afternoon recently, Foofie was telling me to close the garage.  "We've got to close the garage to keep the bandits away.  Bandits like to go into garages ... and you never know when a bandit is going to be out.  Remember when a bandit went into Grandma and Grandpa's garage and stole stuff???"

a little bit amusing

A few recent funnies from Little Happy ... who often bikes with a Bible and a favorite bag :)

He frequently asks, "What time is it?" He learned this from me ... as I don't wear a watch ... and, more often than not, I'm phone-less ... so I often ask Jeff what time it is. This might be stating the obvious ... but he really doesn't need to know what time it is. Furthermore ... we're not the most scheduled folks ... we have more of a general rhythm to our days ... and not a set lunchtime, bedtime, etc.

Last night when he asked and I said it was eight o'clock ... he said,
"Oh, I fought (thought) it was twenty-firty (thirty)."

And what's really funny -- to us anyway -- is that when Jeff tells me what time it is ... I sometimes repeat the time back to him in a shocked voice :) For example, I'll ask what time it is ... and Jeff will say seven-thirty ... and I'll respond, "SEVEN-THIRTY???" So ... another time when Little Happy was inquiring about the time ... he did this too :) We cracked up :)

***

He discovered he has a gap in between his front teeth ... so he's been telling me ... "I fink (think) I lost a toof (tooth)."

***

I was cuddling Little Blondie ... and he said, "It's good to be here!"
"Why are you so happy?" I questioned.
"Dinosaurs," he answered.
Then he began singing a made-up song ... Dinosaurs Make Me Happy :)

a little hand thing

As aforementioned ... Little Happy LOVES singing ... especially singing in the car. He always does this little thing with his hands when this particular song starts up :) Oh, what fun!

a little pair of old sandals

Does anyone know ... how out of style are these??? Are they horribly fashionless ... or just moderately???  I think these are from the mid to late 90s ...

I think they are more ugly than not ... but for some reason ... I haven't parted with them yet ...

a little flyer

My little sweet baby ...

Little Darling ... turned three this week!  THREE!!!  You probably can believe it ... but I can't!  He is growing up so fast ... a little more each day.  When he woke on Monday morning and I told him it was his birthday and that he was three ... he responded with, "I'm still little."  Later on, however, when I was relating the story to Daddy ... Ezzie said, "I'm big now."  So ... he's a bit undecided :)

We got Ezzie this big foam flyer ... and it was more fun than any of us anticipated :)  Getting in position ...
Success!
A second try ... and check out Foofie's expression here ...
And here :)  No, she didn't throw it ... she's just simulating ...
We really should have considered "Happy" as a middle name ... or something like that :)  Of course he can fight and fuss when he wants to ... but most of the time ... he's such a happy fellow ... and brings much joy to all of us :)
Lillebror {Little Brother} and his sisters.  Buddy was at a friend's birthday party ... hence he's not in any of these photos ...
We went to Culver's for supper.  Lillebror and his ice cream ...

Then, we went to a park because we hadn't had our fill of the foam flyer ... and we wanted a larger area to fly it.  Halo is about to catch it ...
She caught it :)
Foofie's turn ...
Nice form, Foofie :)
Little Happy needs a little help ...
Nice :)
Can Daddy catch it?
Yes!
Here we go again ...
Another successful launch :)  P.S.  It does loop-de-loops too when you flip the tail part around ... I have a little video I might add later ... and when it is doing loops, you can't really catch it ... you just try to stay out of its path
We also stopped at the playground for a bit ...
so the kids could do a little hanging :)

Happy Birthday, Little Ez!
